Davido has come out to state that he does not receive any cut from the money made by his artists.
The DMW boss made this known in an open question and answer session with his fans tagged #AskDavido on Twitter on Wednesday, January 9, 2018.
Responding to a fan who asked him about the benefits that come with being a member of the DMW label,
Davido explained,
”I HAVE NEVER COLLECTED A DIME FROM ANY OF MY ARTIST EVEN THO THEY R UNDER CONTRACT.. I don’t need the money I’d rather them use it to invest in themselves.”
This is the first time that he has publicly spoken on how finances are handled with the label which houses a number of notable names like Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo, Idowest, Sinzu and more.
He further answered questions on a range of issues concerning his music and his personal life.
In 2018, Davido released a number of chart-topping records, but of the lot, he chooses ‘Nwa Baby’ as his favorite song.
He also confirmed that he has collaborated with Roc Nation rapper Casanova on a record that also features Canadian rapper, Tory Lanez and is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
